Description
A Victorian gilt metal medal of the Ancient Order of Foresters. The Ancient Order of Foresters (AOF) is one of Britain’s oldest friendly societies. Established in 1834 to provide sickness and funeral benefits to its members. A Court is a local branch and this is a ceremonial medal which would have been awarded to an officer for their distinguished service. This fine example has the stag and coat of arms. This highly collectible Victorian example has a moving top helmet section which we believe signifies a higher degree within the order.
