Early Victorian Whitby Jet Portrait Cameo Locket

Description

A fine early Victorian Whitby jet locket with a cameo portrait to the front.  Measuring 60mm x 40mm including the solid jet bail.  The locket is hinged on the side to open and reveal spaces for 2 photographs.  All the fittings are silver and the jet is highly polished to a beautiful finish.  In exceptional condition for its age which we believe to be circa 1840.
