Vintage 1940’s Silver Mikimoto Pearl Heart Screw On Earrings

Description

A pair of vintage stylized heart design earrings measuring 16mm x 16mm and having an etched leaf and screw on fittings.  Like all Japanese Mikimoto jewellery the standard is extremely high with only the best Japanese Akoya pearls used.  The ones in these  pretty 1940’s earrings measure approximately 5.75mm in diameter.  The earrings have the hallmarks of S for Silver and an M in an oyster shell which is the patented mark for Mikimoto jewellery.  Today the name Mikimoto is synonymous with beautiful, lustrous pearls.
