Description
Fabulous Scottish Victorian brooch. Measuring 54mm in diameter and set with a large Cairngorm measuring 18mm in diameter. The Cairngorm stone is sourced in Scotland from the Cairngorm mountains. The colour is similar to a dark rich citrine. Surrounding the Cairngorm is a gilded silver open floral work leading to an outer ring of cut agates, bloodstone & brown onyx. Scottish jewellery became increasingly popular in Victorian time mainly down to Queen Victoria’s frequent visits to Balmoral and her wearing of the many pieces of jewellery she bought back from there.
